Iris M. Steine, Consilient Angel

A social friend across three chapters — the Bond party, the Summit invitation, the Angel candidacy

About this entry

Recalled but not checked against any source. Treat everything here as a first draft awaiting correction.

Person

Who this is

A member of the Consilient Angels group. This entry is a stub pending her own account of her role.

Per S-113: a social friend across three chapters of the record — the October 2019 James Bond theme party at Carlos Bustamante's house, where the Z8 attended as the Bond car it literally is; the November 2024 invitation to the Nobel Sustainability Trust Summit at UC Berkeley, which she could not attend; and a Consilient Angel candidacy in June 2026 that ultimately did not proceed.

A session in the Zoom transcript ledger includes this participant — primary-source conversation in Jonathan Hare’s voice, published under the consent and staging ruling of S-129, with the verbatim record arriving as the archive ingests.

Fully open in the record per the author's ruling: her session of June 11, 2026 — the emotional debrief at the end of the Einstein-mode months, the Consilient Angel designation, and the friendship stated in both directions — is published whole as S-133, with the provenance chain on the page and her standing invitation in its strongest form: any passage of her own words trimmed or removed immediately on her word.

Correction, 31 August 2026. The record said, from the transcript ingest onward, that the video of the June 11 session had been deleted at her request. Hare corrected that (S-187): the video was never deleted and he never promised to delete it; he offered her its use for research and reserves it for Walter Isaacson; it was his story, she consented to the recording in advance, and he will decide when it is shown. His account of why she pressed for deletion is in S-187 at his grade; hers is invited, and her strike on any passage of her own words in S-133 stands as granted. The earlier statement is left in place above with this beside it, which is the record's way.
