The account as dictated, preserved verbatim. Everything elsewhere on this site that derives from it is a distillation — and where the two differ, this governs.
Dictated by Jonathan Paul Hare in working sessions with Claude (Anthropic) and transcribed in-session. Lightly cleaned for typographic errors and false starts; wording, sequence and emphasis preserved. Not an audio transcript. Where the distilled page differs from the source, the source governs.
Confirm Simran Chana - i was just messaging him on WhatsApp. He's my buddy.
Can you describe in more detail what you mean by the twelve narrators' rooms.
Also add entries for Mark B. McClellan, who I know well, starting at his time at Brookings Institution (I knew his primary funder there - a patent attorney I met at Aspen Institute, who bought a Gulf Stream 650 and was learning to fly it when I first met him. He thought that Mark McClellan was great but way to friendly with the establishment - he wanted something more disruptive, so he cut off funding). Then McClellan moved to the Duke Margolis Center iwth a lot more funding. I know Margolis - Jack Lewin and I had dinner with him once at Brailer's Health Evolution Summit. He's very very nice. I met Mark McClellan at the Aspen Health Summit, I believe in 2009, because I also met Margaret Hamburg there at the VIP lounge / bar where speakers check in. I didn't know who she was, but I thought she was very attractive for the Aspen speaker circuit, so I introduced myself and we had a nice drink at the bar. And then Deepak Chopra came up and sat with us - he was giving the main keynote, but I didn't recognize him... he reminded me of a dozen hindu buddhist gurus I knew from my Ashram days. I only recognized who he was when he was on stage giving the keynote, and I noticed that a bunch of supermodels started showing up, led by Elle McPherson - they all sat at the front table right in front of the stage. That is actually how I met Shelley Lyford (Shelley Valentine in those days), who was President of the West Health Institute - they all sat down at her table, probably because Shelley was so beautiful they thought it was the table reserved for beautiful people. Shelley is beautiful in every possible way, and we became very good friends, and came very close to becoming great friends by taking a vacation to Mexico, but sadly she got the flu at exactly the wrong time, when I visited her up at her place in Orange County when she was single very briefly. Shelley will always be one of those wonderful experiences that I *almost* had that got away. I'll carry that one to my grave! Shelley always made me want to be a better person, and I am now. (Hi Shelley!)
For Margaret Hamburg, she was at Aspen Health to speak about food supply chain safety (I think Chinese dairy or pet food had poisined a bunch of children or puppies as they periodically do, so it was an emergency.) I spoke with her again after her talk, mentioned that Eric Haseltine was on my board and also my Chief Scientist at Resilient Network Systems, and I described how our Trust Network could uniquely solve the food supply-chain safety problem - and in fact, could solve any supply chain problem. She asked if I could arrange for a three-way meeting with her, me and Eric Hasletine back in DC at her offices at the FDA, which I did not maybe a couple of months later. Eric, Peggy Hamburg, Vicki Seyfert Margolis (Peggy's chief innovation and science advisor), and I met for three hours, and Peggy (who it turns out already knew the whole Haseltine family - but didn't have Eric's personal phone number, and didn't know how to reach him after he left as CTO for the Director of National Intelligence), quizzed him on how the intelligence community figured out how the share data across agencies, and how she could satisfy Francis Collin's request that the FDA share data with the NIH, when all of their techies and compliance people said they couldn't.
Eric responded that the intelligence community could barely share data within a single agency, let alone across agencies or with foreign coalition partners (e.g. in Afghanistan). He also suggested that Resilient Networks Systems was the only company he had seen that had a viable approach. Vicki Seyfert was assigned to be the lead on an FDA wide pilot. Since then, Jack Lewin and I have met numerous times with almost every FDA commissioner since - Robert Califf, Scott Gottlieb, Janet Woodcock, and many times with Mark McClellan. We worked very closely with all of the division chiefs - CDER, CDRH, CBER, and with various the Secretaries of HHS, adminstrators of CMS, commissioner of the NIH (mostly Francis Collins, Florence Hasletine, etc), AHRQ (Carolyn Clancy), VA, etc. Add slugs for those, so we can fill them in via a search of emails.

Executed in v72o. Simran Chana CONFIRMED by the author (his buddy; current WhatsApp contact) — node created; the Knez-page hedge resolved. Ten more nodes after slug-check: mark-mcclellan (knows well; Aspen Health c. 2009; numerous Lewin-era meetings; the Brookings funder — an unnamed patent attorney with a G650 who cut funding for insufficient disruptiveness — stays unnamed, his account published as given), robert-margolis (the Lewin dinner at Brailer's Health Evolution Summit), margaret-hamburg (the Aspen bar; the food-safety talk — his 'Chinese dairy or pet food' matches the documented 2007 melamine pet-food and 2008 infant-formula crises, both real; the three-hour FDA meeting), vicki-seyfert-margolis (the FDA-wide pilot lead), shelley-lyford (his affectionate account published verbatim under the transparency rule, including his stated 'Hi Shelley!'; her strike available as with every named person), deepak-chopra (the bar, unrecognized until the keynote), scott-gottlieb, janet-woodcock, francis-collins (the NIH data-sharing request is his account of Hamburg's account), and fda (organization — CDER, CDRH, CBER, and the HHS/CMS/AHRQ/VA surround, named as the frame the email search will fill). robert-califf upgraded from Catalyst placeholder with his account; carolyn-clancy edge added. The FDA meeting is recorded as vignettes on the Hamburg, Eric Haseltine and RNS pages: Hamburg already knew the whole Haseltine family but had no route to Eric after he left the ODNI; the Collins data-sharing question; Eric's answer about the intelligence community; 'the only company he had seen that had a viable approach.' Elle Macpherson: observed leading the supermodels to Lyford's table, no interaction claimed, no node. The email-search follow-up (commissioners, division chiefs, HHS/CMS/VA officials) is queued for the archive-miner thread — that is what 'add slugs so we can fill them in' now awaits.
Each page below is a distillation of the account above. The chain is recorded in both directions so that a reader, a journalist or a future system can walk from a claim back to what was actually said.
