Peter Knez opened the Nobel Sustainability Trust to me — and became Chairman of Palm Global in Dubai on the way home from COP

Palm Global Technologies and TEAL Chairman & CEO; EP3 Sustainability Fellow, 5 accelerators; the introduction to Tracy J. Wang and the summit's VIP invitations

About this entry

This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.

Person

Who this is

One of the ten EP3 Sustainability Fellows, per the accelerators site (documented). In Jonathan Hare's account (S-188) Peter Knez is how the record reached the Nobel Sustainability Trust: he was to attend the November 2024 summit himself, arranged a courtesy VIP invitation for Hare's friend Karla Brollier, and introduced Hare to Tracy J. Wang, the Trust's chief executive, to make it. When Karla went to a venture event in Santa Fe instead, Hare took the slot. Knez had been speaking at COP in Baku just before; flying back he stopped in Dubai, met its senior royals, and was recruited as Chairman of Palm Global, into which he then pulled the UAE's royals and sovereign-wealth sources, forming Palm Promax Investments.

Knez had worked closely with Bruno Wang and the Trust's leadership; in Hare's account the two fell out for economic and trust reasons, and Hare reconnected Knez with the sustainability people he knew and with the head of the Cambridge laboratory — Simran Chana — confirmed by Hare on 1 September 2026: his buddy (S-192). Hare has since pulled Knez into his conversations with the Milliman climate and microinsurance leadership and the rest of the Fellows. Both men's accounts of the falling-out are open.

Where this came from

Everything above is a distillation. The primary source is published in full, so that any claim on this page can be walked back to what was actually said — and where the two differ, the source governs.

The architecture

What this bears on

This record is not biography attached to a technical claim. Each runs into the other: the experiences below produced the mechanisms, and the mechanisms are what those experiences turned out to require.

How it actually works

Into the explainers

This page is the anecdote — the thing that draws you in. The explainers are where the mechanism is set out in full, with the problem it solves and the condition on which it fails.

Claim your edge

What is missing, and how to fix it

This entry is deliberately incomplete. The gaps below are the things only certain people can settle — and settling one is a contribution like any other: recorded, timestamped and attributed to whoever made it.
