The account as dictated, preserved verbatim. Everything elsewhere on this site that derives from it is a distillation — and where the two differ, this governs.
Dictated by Jonathan Paul Hare in working sessions with Claude (Anthropic) and transcribed in-session. Lightly cleaned for typographic errors and false starts; wording, sequence and emphasis preserved. Not an audio transcript. Where the distilled page differs from the source, the source governs.
On Christy Turlington - she was the dream girl of hundreds millions of people, as one of the top four supermodels at the time. The difference was - I actually thought I had a shot. She had been dating actor Jason Patrick (the guy in Speed2) for a while, but my friends gave me a heads up that they had broken up. That's why I was invited to the Moby concert where I met Heidi Klum - I was in the VIP section sandwiched between them - Christy Turlington in front, and Heidi Klum right behind me, and were all dancing vertically, because i was literally wedged between their bodies, we had to jump in unison, because we were all crammed together - it was a small balcony, in a very small venue. I almost passed out - I had dreamed of this moment for years! The only problem was, I Christy Turlington was facing the stage, so other than the original introductions when they let me in, I couldn't establish eye contact, and it was so loud that you could barely hear. Heidi Klum was behind me, so i just turned around and talked with her instead - she was very nice, and approachable, just like she seems on TV. She has to be the nicest celebrity I've ever met - just a kind heart, she's not faking anything. She was with her then husband (the one before Seal) when I met her, and he didn't mind us talking - he was just absorbing the music.
As for Christy Turlington, I seriously spent years trying and nearly suceeding in getting set up on a date - everyone I knew knew about it, and the first thing I asked of anyone in the entertainment or fashion world was "do you know Christy Turnlington?" I actually had a couple of personal friends of hers set us up, but I think they both had crushes on me - probably because I was pursuing Christy Turlington, not her. I actually went to Kabala meetings several times (that's a new-age variant of Judiasm that a lot of celebrity women were into in those days) because Christy might be there, but she didn't attend those particular meetings. I did meet Madonna at one of those sessions - she was cool.
Corrections applied downstream are recorded here rather than made silently. The source above is unaltered.
Display copy corrects 'Jason Patrick' to Jason Patric and 'Kabala' to Kabbalah; the source is verbatim. Klum's then husband is left as dictated — 'the one before Seal' — rather than named from outside the corpus. Two accounts of the Moby concert now exist and are complementary rather than contradictory: S-010 records that Hare's sister Cassidy Arkin made the introduction to Klum at the concert; this record supplies the reason Hare was there at all — friends' word that Turlington and Patric had broken up — and the physical fact that conversation with Turlington was impossible (she faced the stage; the venue was loud) while conversation with Klum was not. Who extended the concert invitation is an open question and is recorded as one. An editorial decision is recorded here: no entity page is created for Christy Turlington. She never participated in these events beyond being present and facing the other way; the record's convention is that third parties are not given pages in sensitive contexts — and being the object of a years-long romantic pursuit is one — until they claim their own edge. The pursuit is recorded on the event page as a fact about Hare, with no claim that Turlington was ever aware of it. The two friends of hers who attempted introductions are deliberately not named. Reconciliation, 24 August 2026: this record was originally entered under the number S-055, which was already held by the Weinberg–Rodkin–Maxwell dictation; it is renumbered S-103 so every record carries a unique citation. The text is unchanged.
Each page below is a distillation of the account above. The chain is recorded in both directions so that a reader, a journalist or a future system can walk from a claim back to what was actually said.
A source record can be wrong about the world even when it accurately preserves what was said. Corrections are recorded alongside rather than replacing it — nothing here is overwritten.
