Producer — and the reason Hare was in those rooms at all
This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.
Jonathan Hare's step-sister — his sister in every way that matters, and the word he uses. Sandra Rogers-Hare's biological daughter, one of the very first artificial-insemination babies, raised in Synanon's Hatchery until 1980 and part of the Hare household from San Leandro on, when she was four or five and still, as Hare tells it, in a crib. Worked across MTV, VH1, BET and ABC, and produced the CNN project built around their father's 1965 Selma photographs — the reason those pictures reached an audience after forty years in a box.
The New York access in the 2000 record runs through her, not through him.
She was in the room for Milton's announcement — present, per S-085, for the whole burning-bush evening alongside Harold, Sandy and Tullan.
S-094 adds the chapter that is hers alone, told at the record's respectful distance because she has told it publicly herself: Cassie was a pioneer of early assisted reproduction, her parentage understood for decades as a standard anonymous donor procedure — until she uncovered that the fertility doctor had secretly used his own sperm, fathering potentially hundreds of children, and mapped that reality in a documentary. Hare's framing is practical: commercial sperm banks with modern ethical protocols didn't exist then; it simply wasn't disclosed. The record adds its own: a family that keeps claim-and-correction pairs recognizes a woman who corrected the biggest record of all. The chapter; the documentary's title is the standing ask, at her pleasure.
Each entry below carries its own provenance — the source, and how it was processed. That is the condition on which this graph can be extended by anyone without degrading.
The trail exists so that people who were there can reconstruct their own memories, recognize what they helped incubate, and add to or correct the record — or forward the few pages that belong to someone they know.
Executive producer of The 1965 Journey from Selma, the book and documentary project built around Milton Hare's photographs. A news special drawn from it aired on CNN in March 2005, forty years almost to the week after the march.
The VIP tickets to the Moby concert were hers — she knew Moby well, as she knew most of that world from her years across MTV, VH1, ABC and BET, and Hare hung out with her often when he was in New York. The whole New York thread of this record — the balcony, Klum, the Halloween party, Maxwell — starts with his sister's tickets. The bio's claim stands verified another way: the access ran through her.
Cassidy told this chapter herself, at documentary length: her memoir Little Brown Girl and the Paramount+ docuseries Born in Synanon, which she executive-produced with her mother. The record defers to her telling for the Synanon years — the Hatchery, Ed Arkin, the 1980 departure — and adds only what its own vantage holds: Milton becoming her step-father in San Leandro around 1981, step-brothers arriving in her life while she was still in a crib, and the New York years where she reconnected with Ed and opened the doors the 2000 record runs through.
