I was at that party. That prostitute costume Ghislaine Maxwell was wearing was exactly what I remember, and I have a cocktail napkin where she wrote her name and cell phone number, which is how we stayed in touch.
It's also worth mentioning that I know Donald Trump the way just about anyone in society circles knows Donald Trump — I met him at parties, or stayed in hotels he owned, or flew on his airline.
When I worked at Strategic Planning Associates in DC (which I chose because I didn't want to live in NYC, and instead be near my grandmother and the Smithsonian), I flew up to NYC most weeks on either the Pan Am or the Eastern Shuttle, and stayed mostly at the Plaza, the Waldorf Astoria, or the Pierre Hotel. Trump Shuttle — as a first-year analyst. Often in suites; I had so much frequent-stayer status that they always upgraded me to the best available when I checked in at 10pm or later.
I saw Donald Trump occasionally at the Plaza, and Ivana Trump often. I saw Ivanka Trump once or twice — she had the run of the Plaza in those days.
You'd see him occasionally when I walked down 5th Avenue, before cutting over to our offices on Park Avenue. You especially saw him at any party with large numbers of models or actresses — and he was not alone. I wasn't there to see Donald Trump, but he stood out; he lived rent-free in everyone's heads his entire life. NYC is packed with actresses and models and musicians and athletes and homeless people too.
I flew on the Trump Shuttle a dozen times over the years — which was weird. We still called it the Eastern Shuttle when we told the drivers where to drop us, because it was the same planes and the same gates he bought out of bankruptcy.
[Revised 15 August 2026] He bragged in public repeatedly about his prodigious sexual history among the models and actresses of New York, actually marrying three of them — yet this was actually quite an unremarkable lifestyle in New York, just less publicised than for Trump. Not everyone could match his exploits, but most of Wall Street and the real estate barons tried, and many succeeded.
I've always liked Ivanka, from those early hallway encounters at the Plaza, to watching way too much about her in the news and in the tabloids. To avoid the appearance of a conflict, I'd suggest Ivanka as my point of contact, with Jared Kushner, so I can help him get Middle East peace via Consilience.

Independent corroboration. The Hudson Hotel party has since been documented in the press; published photographs show Prince Andrew, Ghislaine Maxwell and Donald Trump among the guests, and Maxwell in the costume Hare described from memory twenty-five years later. This is one of very few events in this record with external documentation, and it is worth being precise about what it establishes: that Hare was at the party he says he was at, and that his recollection of detail is accurate. It establishes nothing else.
Both earlier omissions resolved by the author's revision of 15 August 2026. The passage on Trump's conduct is now framed around his own repeated public statements and three marriages, which is documented rather than alleged — and the author's actual point, that the pattern was ordinary in that city and merely less publicised for everyone else, is the stronger version. The point-of-contact suggestion is now stated without implied familiarity: Hare liked Ivanka Trump from brief hallway encounters at the Plaza and has followed her in the press since, and proposes her and Jared Kushner as contacts to avoid any appearance of conflict.
