Jim Routh was Aetna's Chief Information Security Officer when Jonathan Hare pitched Resilient at James Kaplan's quarterly McKinsey CISO summit, and he became the arc's primary executive sponsor: with CEO air-cover from Mark Bertolini — reached through Jack Lewin — Aetna ultimately provided $7 million in financing for what was called the WebShield project, funding three and a half years of POCs, pilots and production deployments across Aetna, Experian Health, LexisNexis, the IRS and their vendors.
