About this entry

This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.

Person

Who this is

Kathleen (Kat) Mahan and Jonathan Hare met as fellow members of the Markle Foundation's Personal Health Technology Council — the body organized by Carol Diamond, David Lansky and Zoe Baird, to which Hare was appointed after Esther Dyson reached out to Lansky on his behalf. From Surescripts onward she was, in Hare's words, a champion at every one of her roles — and her own LinkedIn corroborates it in the most direct way available: the featured media on her Transaction Network Services entry is Resilient Network Systems' 'Reclaiming Security and Privacy Through Data Exchanges Online' and the Health 2.0 Fall 2010 note calling the identification-and-authentication overlay 'the answer to all the issues about HIE data exchange and more.' A champion whose public professional record carries the championship is the documented kind.

The career, from the supplied record: six years running product at Surescripts (with HIT Policy Committee testimony on directory services); Transaction Network Services; Verato and its Araxid advisory; Change Healthcare strategic partnerships; Veda; then Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Leidos, 2019–2023, where she ran healthcare strategy — and offered the introduction that titles S-074: directly to Bob Sternfels, who had personally worked a strategy engagement for Leidos before becoming McKinsey's Global Managing Partner, pulling in Scott Blackburn alongside. The introduction mattered for the structural reason Hare states: his internal McKinsey contacts do not make upward internal referrals, so the path to the top of the firm ran through the client side. The introduction paused for the most human of reasons — her mother fell ill, and she moved back to Arizona to care for her. Now Vice President at ICF. The earlier identification of her as S-074's unnamed Leidos champion, flagged on this page for Hare's ruling, is confirmed by S-083 — the record's mechanism closing its own ask within a day, again.
