The career that followed Blyth, from the biographical record supplied in S-071: Texas Instruments after Computer Science at Texas A&M and Management Science at UT Dallas; Blyth by 1992; founder and CEO of AnswerSoft (1993–1998, inbound call-center automation, acquired by Davox); VP Marketing at Davox and then NetBoost, acquired by Intel; Director of Strategic Investments at Intel Capital; more than eleven years as U.S. Managing Partner of STAR Ventures, a billion-dollar international fund; CEO of Innovation Catalyst in Baton Rouge; and since 2016, co-founder of Bayless Capital in Dallas — in partnership with her father, Jon Bayless, the Sevin Rosen general partner whose early career included the Apollo S-Band communication system. The woman nodding in the boardroom went on to build the career the nod predicted.

Hare's assessment, marked as his: one of the most delightful human beings and Texans he has ever met, with the observation that Texans are generally much nicer in person than they seem in politics. Years later she dated Jim Malernee of Cornerstone, which is how the couch story reached Hare, and that thread is filed where it belongs — as an ask.
