Jay Short was chairman of the E.O. Wilson Foundation in December 2006, when the McKinsey channel opened: told about Eric Beinhocker, his reply — preserved verbatim in S-078 — was 'Very impressive guy,' with a commitment to draft the Foundation's needs summary despite a week's work in front of him. He was also chief executive of Diversa, and appears elsewhere in this record through Bill Haseltine's friendship. Charles J. Smith, copied throughout the thread, worked with him at the Foundation and is not yet placed in the record; the ask is filed here.
