A name that succeeds by becoming unnecessary
This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.
Consilient is the uber brand. Quantum Privacy is retained only where it is inherent to the thing being described — the Quantum Privacy Liquidity Pool, Privacy Cells, Personal Privacy Networks — because those are uniquely enabled by it. Everywhere else the name is Consilient: Consilient Contribution, the Consilient Innovation Network, the Consilient Meta Fund, the Consilient Meta Firm.
The word is E. O. Wilson's, and it means something before anyone explains it. Quantum Privacy Network sounds like a product. Consilient names the thesis.
Each entry below carries its own provenance — the source, and how it was processed. That is the condition on which this graph can be extended by anyone without degrading.
The trail exists so that people who were there can reconstruct their own memories, recognize what they helped incubate, and add to or correct the record — or forward the few pages that belong to someone they know.
Jonathan Hare's stated intent, which is unusual for a brand: the Consilient prefix should fade.
In the beginning a name has to be established, because the thing it describes does not yet exist and the name is doing the work of the argument. As the thing becomes ubiquitous and real rather than aspirational, the qualifier stops carrying information — the way an ideological prefix drops away once its content has become simply how things are done.
So: the Consilient Innovation Network becomes the Innovators Network. Consilient Contribution becomes contribution. A name that still needs saying twenty years from now will have failed.
There is no single root. This is one view of the graph, from this node — what you see depends on where you enter and what you are looking for.

This entry is deliberately incomplete. The gaps below are the things only certain people can settle — and settling one is a contribution like any other: recorded, timestamped and attributed to whoever made it.
