James Joaquin ran Ofoto from offices in the same Fourth Street shopping district of Berkeley as Consilient — the neighborhood both companies chose because San Francisco space was unobtainable and the East Bay was where the talent lived. He re-introduced Jonathan Hare directly to Mitch Kapor, whom Hare had known for years at one remove. The record holds him as the reconnection's author and a neighbor of the era.
