Ed Ekstrom of Intel Capital gave the horizontal-infrastructure company the advice venture reality demanded: pick a single vertical. Jonathan Hare chose healthcare — it touched every sector, was a fifth of the economy, and suffered exactly the structural coordination failure the privacy architecture existed to solve.
