The Washington, DC strategy firm where Jonathan Hare worked after college — chosen, by his account across several records, because he wanted to be near his grandmother and the Smithsonian rather than live in New York, flying up to New York most weeks on the Pan Am or Eastern shuttle. At SPA he used a Xerox Star before the Macintosh came out (S-188), and he had one of the very first Apple LaserWriters, which he used for desktop publishing — the printer that ran on Adobe's PostScript, which is the closest he came to John Warnock's work.
