One of Hare's closest friends and mentors; VP of Sales to Hare's Director of Product Management; the Bix's lunches
This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.
Ron Ellis and Jonathan Hare met at Tesseract — Ellis VP of Sales, Hare Director of Product Management — and the working relationship became one of Hare's closest friendships and mentorships. Ellis joined Evolve Software very early and would have been a founder outright, but seniority cuts both ways: after Ceridian bought Tesseract, his golden handcuffs were heavier than Hare's and his non-compete and non-solicitation agreements more robust, so the title lagged the fact.
The friendship ran through Bix's — the best restaurant in San Francisco at the time and Hare's all-time favorite, which he had been going to since it opened, first taken by his cousin Dodi during the Berkeley years to be taught, in a sentence the dictation abandons mid-thought, 'the ways of' — the record preserves the cut and files the ask. It was Ellis who introduced Hare to Warren 'Bunny' Weiss, which is how the Asera thread begins.
