The account as dictated, preserved verbatim. Everything elsewhere on this site that derives from it is a distillation — and where the two differ, this governs.
Dictated by Jonathan Paul Hare in working sessions with Claude (Anthropic) and transcribed in-session. Lightly cleaned for typographic errors and false starts; wording, sequence and emphasis preserved. Not an audio transcript. Where the distilled page differs from the source, the source governs.
I forgot to add the point I was going to make about the dinner in London - Sandra steadfastly ignored my hand signals to move over and sit with John and I on the "executive" side of the dinner table, and sat directly opposite him instead. She spent the rest of the trip at BP headquarters with John Leggate and his team, and I was meeting with Tony Hayward and John Browne, and other customers in London, so I never got to ask her why she didn't move over. I asked her good friend Mary, an accomplished enterprise software sales account rep about it later, and she said "Jonathan - you're so innocent. In the software industry, tits sell, dicks buy. Just let her close the deal." When she put it that way, I undersood completely. And she did - $1.5m for one deal, with a $10m pipeline we were working on, just for BP.
Specifically, Sandra's best (and most beautiful) friend Victoria Vaughn was Vince Vaughn's sister. The three of us hung out quite a bit socially, and while I never met Vince personally, I heard all about him from Sandra and Victoria. Sandra ended up moving down to LA and worked for Vince's production company, as a producer on a quite a few very successful movies.
Corrections applied downstream are recorded here rather than made silently. The source above is unaltered.
Two refinements are published against earlier copy rather than silently applied. First, the deal figures: prior pages carried 'the first million-dollar-plus contract' from S-063; this record refines it to $1.5m for the single deal with a $10m BP pipeline in development, and the pages now say so. Second, the dinner: S-063 recorded the seat-change signal; this record completes it — Sandra ignored the signal, sat directly opposite Leggate, and the verdict on why belongs to her friend Mary, an enterprise-software account rep, quoted verbatim above. Mary is identified by first name only because that is all the dictation gives; her full name, and her blessing for the quotation, are open asks. The Victoria Vaughn material establishes the second one-degree route to Vince Vaughn: Hare, Sandra and Victoria socialised regularly; Hare and Vince never met, and every page involved continues to state that plainly.
Each page below is a distillation of the account above. The chain is recorded in both directions so that a reader, a journalist or a future system can walk from a claim back to what was actually said.
A source record can be wrong about the world even when it accurately preserves what was said. Corrections are recorded alongside rather than replacing it — nothing here is overwritten.
