Davidow and Malone's book — the partner-assembled, information-integrated corporation; what the coordination architecture makes operable
This is Jonathan Hare's account, with its provenance shown. The person or organization named has not yet claimed or corrected it.
The Virtual Corporation (1992), by Bill Davidow and Michael S. Malone, argued that the corporation of the future would be a shifting web of partners, suppliers and customers bound by shared information rather than walls — a firm defined by its coordination, not its perimeter. Added on Jonathan Hare's ruling (S-191). The record's interest is lineage: the book named the organizational form that a trust and coordination layer — the thing this site's architecture exists to supply — is required to make real at scale; and its co-author Malone is one of the narrators of the Jobs documentary, one of the ten Hare did not meet.
