Gently suggested Jonathan Hare find somewhere other than NEA's office to camp out in, after the partnership declined to invest — which is how he came to be camping at Kleiner Perkins instead, which is how he came to be at the Aspen lunch table uninvited.
Hare met Scott Sandell when Sandell first started at NEA, and the introduction that matters to this record followed: to James Phillips at Actional, where Sandell and Doug Ayer of ICP had invested and where Hare's strategy engagement ran. Sandell's subsequent decades at NEA are their own public story; this page holds the junction and does not pad beyond it.
