From outside, Evolve, Consilient and Resilient look like a decade of near-misses. The outcomes were real. But two of the three were ended by instruments Hare designed or agreed to himself — which makes this the specification for the architecture rather than a list of regrets.
Each stop is a page in the graph. The order is an argument — but every one of them is also a door into the rest of it, so you can leave the path wherever it stops being useful.
A called shot from someone who has never missed is a boast. A called shot from someone who publishes the note he designed, the clause he agreed to, the term sheet he passed on and the prize he threw away is a claim you have to engage with. And the through-line is not bad luck. Every one of these companies was an attempt at the same coordination layer, and each was defeated by a mechanism that existed because somebody had discretion — a lever, held by a person, exercisable under pressure. That is what the architecture removes.
