The eight design requirements every adaptive system must satisfy — including this website.
This topic carries part of the argument of the Consilient Manifesto — the universal call to action. ← Back to the call
Complex Adaptive Systems Theory, made constructive. Where the science describes what adaptive systems do, Quantum Adaptive Systems Theory turns the description into design requirements: self-configuring agents, layered aggregation, flows, tagging, nonlinearity, diversity, internal models, and recombinant building blocks. A system satisfying all eight is a Quantum Adaptive System — and because such systems nest, an architecture assembled from them is itself one.
The failure diagnostics run the other way: architectures without tagging cannot route or attribute and collapse under their own coordination cost; systems without internal models cannot anticipate; platforms without recombinant building blocks cannot generate novelty and stagnate. Most large-system failures are a missing mechanism, named.
This site is built to the eight on purpose — the tag genome, the layered hubs, the entanglement trails — so the navigation you are using is the theory demonstrating itself. The formal version, with the six importations behind the six domains, is in the Library's QAST explainer.
One graph, four projections — the story where this was learned, the invention that delivers it, the vision claim it serves, and what it becomes in the Era of Abundance.
