The detail is correct and the sequence runs the other way. Bunny was Bernard Lasker, a former chairman of the New York Stock Exchange. Freeman had heard from Lasker that the Beatrice buyout was in trouble, telephoned Siegel to check, and on Siegel confirming it said your bunny has a good nose — then sold. That exchange is the basis of the single count of mail fraud he pleaded to in 1989.
Hare recalled the line accurately after nearly forty years, which is the kind of retrieval discussed on the page about how this record was made.
Not carried across: the closing rhetorical questions about Rudy Giuliani. Hare's characterisation of the prosecution is already recorded as his opinion on the Freeman page; a rhetorical question implying unproven conduct by a named living person is a different thing and is not published as a claim.
